How to fill and sign a PDF on iPhone
Rental applications, school forms, contracts: fill in every blank and add your signature on your iPhone, in a couple of minutes, without printing anything or uploading the form.
Step by step
- Open Sheaf, tap Import a file (or share the form to Sheaf from Mail or Files), then choose Fill & Sign.
- The blanks on the page light up. Tap the first one, or tap Start.
- Type your answer. Tap Next ▸ to jump to the next blank, so you never have to hunt for the next line.
- Date blanks open a date picker, so dates come out in a clean format.
- When you reach the signature line, draw your signature with your finger. It lands right on the line, sized to fit.
- Tap Save, then Save to Files or Share to send it back.
Fill the same details faster
Filling in your name, address, phone and email again and again? Save them once in My details (Pro) and fill them into any form with one tap. They're kept only on your iPhone, in its encrypted Keychain, and you can erase them anytime in Settings.
Good to know
- Text that doesn't fit? Sheaf keeps your answer inside the blank and moves it so it never overlaps the printed text.
- Is the signature legally binding? A signature added with Sheaf is an image of your signature. Whether that counts as a valid signature depends on where you live and who you're sending it to.
- No blanks detected? Some forms are just a picture of a page. You can still type anywhere with Text and add your signature with Sign in Edit PDF.
What's free
Filling and signing are free. You can save 3 files a day for free by watching one short ad each, on files up to 15 pages or 10 MB; otherwise it's $0.99 per file, or Pro for no ads and no limits.
